Many altered art techniques used in altered books can also be used in scrapbooks.
Altered hoop earrings. I removed the hook, then filled the inside of the hoop with an image stamped on white card stock. Lastly, I filled the "hole" with a dimensional glue product.
Although scrapbooking and altered books are two distinctly different art forms, many paper artists put their hand to both. And, as such, there is a degree of overlap as artists carry skills from one art form to another. In the picture to the left, I have altered a pair of earrings for use as an embellishment in a scrapbook layout.
Altered Art Techniques in Scrapbooking
Autumn Craig is a scrapbooker and web site publisher who adapts many of her altered book techniques to use in scrapbooking. An entire section of her web site, Love my Scrapbooking Ideas, is dedicated to altered art techniques. There is no point me re-inventing the wheel, so why not pay Autumn's site a visit and see her waterfalls, pop-ups and spinners? She's adding more content to the page so keep watching. There will be more.
